To my Fellow Hoosiers,

As a tax & financial consultant, I have met with thousands of Hoosiers over the years and the common theme throughout our State is that people continue to struggle "pay check to pay check".

I can relate to these days as I grew up on a rural farm in Michigan.  As a young child, I could hear my parents constantly arguing over money and how they were going to pay the bills.

The memory of these arguments haunt me today.  Like other families across our State, my parents worked hard.  My father was a farmer/truck driver and my mother stayed at home taking care of three kids of their own along with 65 foster children (over the course of 15 years).

With reference to raising money for my campaign, I have decided not to ask for money from you.  I would rather you keep your hard earned money and spend it on your family.

All that I ask of you, is to spread the word about me to your friends and families.

If you feel compelled to donate to our campaign, I appreciate your support. is free!  So vote for Grant in May 2018

Thanks for your valuable time.

The Day Kevin Grant met Donald Trump

April 27, 2016...

It was a happy and sad day for U.S. Congressional Candidate, Kevin J. Grant, of West Lafayette, Indiana.

Donald Trump was planned to conduct a town hall meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana with Greta Van Sustren.

The night before the event, Kevin was at home preparing his U.S. Army dress blues for his friends funeral, which was to be held on the evening of April 27th.

While watching Fox News...the announcer stated how people in Indiana could get tickets to the Greta Van Sustren Kevin quickly went to the website and was surprised that he was lucky enough to get a ticket.

On the day of the event, Kevin was distraught because he didn't know if he would be able to make both events.  His friend, MAJ Bruce Malone, an Active Duty U.S. Army Officer recently committed suicide and Kevin was determined to pay respect to his dear friend.

Kevin arrived in downtown Indy and stood in line like everyone else.  Once he made it inside the venue, a staff member from the Greta VanSustren show asked him to sit on stage.  In fact, as you face the stage, Kevin was seated right behind Donald Trump's right shoulder.

After the show, Kevin didn't know if he was going to meet Donald Trump or not.  As Donald Trump made his rounds on the stage, he stopped and shook Kevin's hand.  Kevin and Donald Trump spoke for a moment...Kevin explained how he supported Donald Trump since he was 19 years old.  He showed Donald Trump an old book that he received for his 19th birthday (Kevin was 46)...It was Donald Trump's book..."Art of the Deal'.  Donald took the book, smiled and then signed it.  Kevin continued to explain to Donald Trump that he was running for Congress in Indiana and Donald Trump wrote the word "WIN!" in his book.  Donald Trump gave the book back to Kevin and pointed to what he wrote.  Kevin thanked him for his time and wished him luck.

Later that evening, Kevin attended his friends was a very sad event. Kevin and Bruce deployed together to the Middle East...where they became great friends. Knowing that his friend, Bruce Malone, struggled with PTSD...If elected in 2018, Kevin has vowed to decrease the suicide rate among veterans.

The day was truly remarkable and sad.  Kevin stated "I will miss my brother in arms...he was a great soldier, man and father"

WIth reference to meeting Donald Trump...Kevin stated "he was happy to meet the next President of the United States"

Never Give Up!

His mother and father didn't want him.

He weighed 2lbs & 12oz at birth.

He spent the first four months of his life in the hospital.

Doctors stated he wasn't going to survive...his medical records showed "Failure to thrive".

He was adopted at six months.

He continued to struggle throughout his childhood with slow development.

He was a different child... wasn't popular in elementary, junior and senior high school.

He worked hard on the family farm...before and after school.

At age ten...he had his first job...he picked blueberries during the summers.

He tried out for baseball in high school... although he hit every ball pitched to him...he was cut from the team.

He tried out for football...although he worked hard in practice, he sat on the bench for the entire season...except for one a wide receiver...they threw the ball at him and he dropped the ball...he was awarded for the Most Improved Player of the Season.

At age 17, he was asked to move out of his home...he lived in a tent for six months during a harsh winter. He took showers at his high school and ate food at the restaurant where he was a cook.

He struggled with learning throughout high school...teachers just pushed him through the system.

Graduated high school with a vocational degree...entered the military at age 19.

The day he left for boot camp...his adoptive mother sat him down and stated that she had terminal cancer and only had 6 months to live...she died several years later.

He served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Grissom Air Force Base, Indiana.

He served on the base honor guard team and traveled throughout Indiana and presented military honors to Indiana Veterans whom passed away...he was discharged in 1992...right after the Gulf War.

He married his high school sweetheart in 1992.

He joined the Army National Guard as an enlisted man, 25 years old...private first class.

At age 30, after attending community college and working full time..he transferred to a four year university and graduated with a finance degree.

He was the first in his family to graduate with a college degree.

He participated in Army ROTC and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. First military officer in his family.

He was assigned to the 29th Infantry Division in Virginia...he served as an intelligence officer until he was asked to serve as an Infantry Platoon leader and was deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He and his 45 man platoon provided security to the prison for those who were involved with the 911 attacks.

After serving in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba....he was asked to help out with detainee operations during the Iraq war in 2005.

His group was responsible for maintaining control of Saddam Hussein and other POW's.

His wife was stationed in Iraq during 2004 -2005...she was a Trauma Physician, located at the 115th Field Hospital in Abu Ghraib Prison. Her unit was continuously attacked by the enemy...they played a big role in saving the lives of many serviceman during the battle of Fallujah.

Even though they were not stationed together...they found a way to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas a combat zone.

Prior to completing his combat tour...he was awarded the bronze star and combat action badge for being engaged with enemy combatants on numerous occasions.

His wife was also awarded the Combat Action Badge and Meritorious Service Medal.

At the age of 36, he returned from the war and attended U.S.Army flight school and was qualified to fly the UH-60 Blackhawk.

In 2009, he was deployed back to the Middle East as a UH 60 Blackhawk Helicopter Pilot and Intelligence Officer.
He authored and published "Wings over Kuwait".

After returning from his deployment, he started a small business, it failed.

The effects of spending 5 years from his family due to military combat and training events...he was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Similar to Vietnam Veterans...he came back home as a different man. For many years he battled PTSD....even his marriage was strained.

His good friend from the Army battled PTSD and committed suicide. Another Army buddy struggled with PTSD and turned to drugs and alcohol.

The company he worked for, Edward Jones Investments fired him because they didn't understand PTSD and didn't want any part of it.

After several years of internal conflict, he finally found inner peace.

Wanting to serve Hoosiers, in 2014...he ran for U.S. Congress and lost in the primary.

He retired from the U.S. Army in 2015 after 20 years of service.

He attended Purdue University and earned a MBA in 2015.
In 2016, he ran for the U.S. Congressional District #4 primary, he received over 38,000 votes and lost.

Tax Break for School Teachers and Administration

As a father of a ten year old, I understand the importance of our teachers and administrators of K-12 public school system.

As a tax & financial consultant, I see first hand how little teachers make and how numerous school teachers use their own money for school projects, etc.  Unfortunately, school teachers in the public school system don't make as much as they should.

In order to show our appreciation of what they do on a daily basis...if elected to Congress...I will author a bill that will reduce the taxable income by 25% on all public school teachers and administration staff.

This is the least we can do for them because they are responsible for our children...the future leaders of our Nation.

Thank You!

25% Federal Tax Break for First Responders by Kevin Grant

To my fellow Hoosiers...

As a decorated U.S. Army retired combat veteran, I understand the challenges and sacrifices that our fellow police, firefighters, emergency medical response personnel and their families make on a daily basis.

If elected as the next U.S. Congressman of Indiana (District #4) in 2018...

I promise to author and push through the legislative process a bill that will reduce our "First Responders" taxable income by 25% on their Personal Income Tax Return.

This is a small gesture of our gratitude for these great Americans for the hard work that they perform everyday.

Thank you to all "First Resonders"...I appreciate your hard work and sacrifices.

Voting is Free...keep your Money!

The days of big money donors supporting candidates and special interests in Washington D.C. are numbered.  The American people are fed up with this process and have spoken on November 2017.

I have traveled throughout the Indiana congressional district #4 (which includes 17 counties) for the past few years and have spoken to thousands of Hoosiers...they are not happy with the inaction of politicians in D.C.

As you are aware, I am running for U.S. Congress and I promise that I will put your interests first when voting for key issues in D.C.

I am not asking you for money for the campaign...if you believe in my message...please spread the word.

Remember voting is a right and is free.

Thank you for your support!

Kevin Grant predicted Donald Trump would win the Presidency in June 16, 2015

Congratulations to President Elect Donald Trump for winning the historic Presidential Campaign against Secretary Hillary Clinton.

It's past 3:30 am and I have spent the last few hours watching the election results unwind on the Fox News Channel.

I am very proud of Donald Trump, his family, friends, supporters and professional colleagues for enduring such a long and arduous campaign.

Some are calling this win a "historical political event"...I view it as a divine intervention...similar to a miracle of God.

I predicted that Donald Trump would win this race back in June 16, 2015...proof can be found on my website: under the news section.

It was a pleasure in meeting and speaking with Donald Trump during the taping of "On the Record" with Greta Vansustren during May of 2016.

I will keep President Donald Trump and his family in my prayers and thoughts.

With reference to the future...I look forward in running against Todd Rokitain in the 2018 Primary Election campaign.

God Bless Indiana and the United States of America.

Kevin Grant states It's time for Americans to stand up and fight for their future

My fellow Americans,

I am deeply disappointed in the direction that our country is going!  Our Congressman & Congresswomen have failed the American people. Even President Obamas' advisors have failed him as well as the Country.  A President is only as good as the people surrounding/appointed to him.

Please note:  as a decorated combat veteran and still serving in the Army National Guard, President Obama is the Commander in Chief and I will not say anything negative about him (as a service member, we raise our right hand and swear to an oath that defends the U.S. Constitution and support the President of the United States).

I have been traveling throughout Indiana and the message is the same.  People are tired of several issues, to include: gridlock in Congress, out of control government spending, paying too much taxes, unemployment, economy is very sluggish, people have had to tap into their 401k retirement plan just to survive, Affordable "Obamacare" Health care act, too much power at the Federal Level, etc..

Things are not going to change by themselves.  Join me in the "Save America Campaign".

If you would like more information...please send me your name an email.

God Bless!

Kevin Grant: Donald Trump supporter since 1989

My fellow Hoosiers:

It may come to a surprise to many of you, I have supported Presidential Candidate Donald Trump since February 1, 1989.

For my 19th Birthday present, I received the #1 National Bestseller "Trump: The Art of the Deal" from family members...and read the book cover-to-cover.

Although I have never met Donald Trump, I have studied him for over 25 years and think he is an outstanding individual.

Donald Trump and I are very similar in many ways (of course I am not worth billions of dollars)...but we are both campaigning for positions within our Government that will make positive changes (if elected) for citizens of our great Nation:

1.  We both are very patriotic and love our Country.

2.  We are not professional politicians.

3.  We both are tired of the inaction of Washington D.C. elected officials.

4.  We both use a common sense approach to solve problems and share a "no-nonsense attitude".

5.  We both love veterans, he is a graduate of "New York Military Academy" and I am an U.S. Army Combat veteran who was awarded The Bronze Star Medal and Combat Action Badge from the Iraq war.

6.  We both love people and want to make America great again.

Donald Trump is an outstanding business leader and negotiator and I believe he will make a great President.

It's interesting how his confident & positive attitude made such a positive impact on my life...someday, I will thank in him in person (by the way, I still have the same book from 1989).

Thanks Mr. Trump. fellow Hoosiers, please consider Donald Trump as the next President of the United States.

Thanks for your time!

Indiana Republican, Kevin J. Grant, is running for the U.S. Senate in 2016

March 27, 2015

To my fellow Hoosiers,

First off, I would like to Thank Senator Dan Coats for all that he has done for our great State and Country.

It is interesting...Senator Coats joined the Senate in 1988.  This was the year that I graduated from High School and the following year, I joined the United
States Air Force and was stationed at Grissom Air Force Base, Bunker Hill, Indiana.

While serving during my first assignment in the medical administration field (305th Strategic Clinic), I was given the opportunity to serve on the base Honor Guard Team.
This great experience has allowed me to travel throughout Indiana in order to present our National Colors as well as pay respect to our fallen Heroes.

Even at the young age of 19 and being at the lowest rank of American Basic (E1), I cherished and honored the Men and Women who served before me.

Now, moving ahead in time, I find myself to be a little older (45), a few pounds heavier, a few gray hairs, happily married to my high school sweetheart (Jill A. Grant), proud father of a seven year old (Kaleb Monroe Grant) and a little wiser.

With all that being said...

As a decorated combat veteran, husband, and father, I cannot stand on the sidelines and let our Country continue to slip down the path of no return.

I am not happy with the direction that our Country is headed and am deeply disappointed in the way that the U.S. Congress and current Administration have conducted themselves over the past few years.  Our federally elected officials have lost touch with reality and it’s time for change.  It’s time for “changing of the guard” in Washington D.C.

It is because of the reasons above and wanting a better World for our children and future generations…I am running for the U.S. Senate.

With reference to running for office, I ran in the 2014, District #4 (U.S. House of Representatives), primary against Todd Rokita and was very happy with the
outcome for a first time candidate.  Although,
I didn’t win…I received 29% of the vote and just over 17,000 votes without raising any money or spending any money of my own (  I understand that it takes money to run campaigns, but the power of the people is stronger than what a pile of money can buy.

Just in case you are wondering, I am qualified to serve as the next Indiana U.S. Senator.  For more information about me and my qualifications, please visit:

If you have any questions or comments for me, please email me at:

I would appreciate your support by saying a simple prayer for our families, State and Country.

P.S. None of this would be possible without the support of my loving wife and family as well as my belief in God.

Grant's letter to Hoosiers-outlines his priorities

Dear fellow Hoosiers,

It's time for change! It's time, time for a change in Congress.  I am deeply disappointed in the way that the U.S. Congress & current Presidential Administration have conducted themselves during the past few years.

As a decorated Combat Veteran, husband, and father, I feel that our Country is slipping away.

Although, there are numerous challenges that face our great Nation, I believe that we can overcome these issues by a "Changing of the Guard" in Washington D.C.  This is why I am running for the U.S. Congressional District #4 seat (Indiana) in 2016.

Below, you will find some of my Priorities/Goals for our State and Country:

Balance the Federal Budget.

Assist the U.S. President & Congress in creating & implementing a plan to defeat terrorist groups that pose a threat to the United States and its allies.

Assist in updating and improving the current tax code.

Abolish the death tax.

Support the enforcement of current immigration laws.

Recommend additional coverage benefits to medicare recipients as it relates to individuals with Diabetes.

Keep God in the Public Sphere.

Promote job growth-Recruit Businesses to Indiana.

Continue to improve the capabilities of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Continue to support and fund "First Responders" (i.e. Fire/EMS/etc..) operations.

Recommend improvements to the current social security system so that the program doesn't run out of money (Privatization of funds?).

Health Care-Ensure that all Hoosiers receive quality & relevant Healthcare.

Veterans-Create and Implement a proactive outreach program to assist veteran's with Veteran Administration (VA) benefits.

Veterans-Improve Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) programs for all veterans.

Education-Ensure all children receive a quality education.

Education-Recognize the importance of Teachers, Professors, and educators at all levels throughout Indiana.

Farmers-Ensure that they continue to receive support from the State & U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Hunters/Firearm owners-Continue to support the Absolute Right to Gun Ownership.

Please join me in my efforts to make our State and Country a better place to live for current and future generations.

Get involved by volunteering and/or donating funds for the campaign.

Thank you for your continued support!

Kevin Grant (R) stance on Israel...we should do more to protect the people & land of Israel.

Grants statement with reference to Israel...

Bottom line upfront, as a Christian, I support protecting the people and the land of Israel.

If elected to the U.S. Congress during the 2016 election cycle, I will make it a priority to increase U.S. Government support of Israel.

Support would include: monetary aid, military personnel & equipment.

The people of Israel are the chosen people of God and we should do everything in our power to protect them.

Kevin Grant (R) states Arming & training Syrian rebels is a grave mistake for the U.S....Todd Rokita voted yes to arm them

What was Todd Rokita thinking???

(Reuters) - The U.S. Congress gave final approval on Thursday to President Barack Obama's plan for training and arming moderate Syrian rebels to battle Islamic State, a major part of his military campaign to "degrade and destroy" the militant group. The Senate voted 78-22, in a rare bipartisan show of support for one of Obama's high-profile initiatives. With the House of Representatives approving the legislation on Wednesday, the measure now goes to Obama to sign into law. Ten Senate Democrats and 12 Republicans voted no.

Grants statement...

The U.S. Congress and the current administration have a very short memory of how Syria can't be trusted.  As an Intelligence officer during the Iraq war, I worked in detainee operations and had first hand knowledge of Syrian fighters crossing the Syrian/Iraq border in order to kill U.S. personnel.

This is a slap in the face of all those military personnel who served in Iraq.

It's time for change...

This is another example of why Todd Rokita (R) of the U.S. House of Representatives needs to be replaced.  He voted "yea" to arm these rebels and he didn't make a public statement explaining why he voted for this.

He has lost touch with reality and needs to resign from his position.

Kevin Grant looking ahead to 2016

Note from Kevin Grant...

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Our current administration is out of control!  How long are we Americans going to stand by and let this go on?

The United States is headed in the wrong direction.

The recent prisoner swap is a prime example of how our President (and his advisers) don't care how it negatively impacted our National Security.

I have personally seen these terrorists in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba when I was stationed there in 2003.  My unit, B Co, 3/116th Infantry Battalion (29th Infantry Division) spent approximately eleven months providing external & internal security for the detainee facilities.

These individuals are not nice people...they have one primary mission..."kill the infidels" (Americans).

I look forward in running for U.S. Congress during the 2016 election cycle (District 4, Indiana).

It's time to clean house...Todd Rokita, the incumbent, has failed the people of District 4!

Please join me by supporting my campaign!

Thank you for your time.

Grants Response to Email, April 4, 2014

Dear Mr. Grant,

I am a Republican in Indiana District 4 and I had some questions on your positions.

I would like to Thank you for sending me these questions:

1. I appreciate your positions on reducing the debt. While I share your positions I am wondering how you would handle yourself in a congress like we have today. Would you be willing to compromise to make some progress or are you like many of the current republicans who appear to only have to the goal to make the Democrats look bad? I assume you are against higher taxes for anyone but is that something you would compromise on to make progress on the debt? I personally would prefer not to have my taxes rise but I also feel strongly that we must reduce our debt.

Great Question!  I am not in the business of making anyone (or group) look bad.  I treat others as I would like to be treated. As with any situation or issue, there must be some kind of compromise.  I feel that productive negotiations are critical in solving issues.  So I will search out "like-minded" people from both sides of the isle to start solving some of our issues in Washington.
With reference to our National Debt, it is important that we have a balanced budget.  We need to cut "fat type" programs out of the system.  I am not willing to raise taxes on anyone.  For example, I am not going to punish a business owner by raising their taxes.  That business owner has worked very hard and has taken numerous risks to get were they are today.  In fact, small businesses are where most of our job growth comes from.

2. Do you believe it is important to focus on our financial issues and put social issues on the back burner?

Answer:  Please send me another note referencing the social issues...which ones specifically are you concerned about.

3. I am happy to see that you have a common sense approach to the Affordable Care Act. Unlike many Republicans I have always believed that there are good parts to the law as well as some very bad parts. I also believe what we had before was horrible. Do you have any specific ideas to make it better?

Unfortunately, I am not a medical expert or pretend to be one.  Serving as financial consultant for over 14 years and currently getting my MBA from Krannert School of Management, I always study the numbers.  The numbers must be accurate and make sense.  Once in office, I will have staff to assist me in getting information about the Affordable Health Care Act...Once that I analyze the numbers, I can make an educated recommendation.

4. I am impressed to see your position on immigration. I lived in Tucson for a few years and saw 1st hand how poorly our current policies are working. If elected do you see anyway that immigration reform could actually happen with the current leadership blocking it?

With reference to immigration...
Our country is a melting pot of people from all over the world.  I have traveled all over the world and experienced how people survive in third world is very sad to see!
I am not sure of the real number, but we have hundreds of thousands of Illegal Aliens in our country performing jobs that no one else wants to do.  Here is my take on it: we create a path to citizenship, give them a social security number, and let them pay taxes just like anyone else.Furthermore, I would improve upon the laws that would punish businesses who knowingly hire illegal aliens in order to improve their bottom line...these types of businesses are taking advantage of this situation and it must be stopped immediately.

Again, I would work with "like minded" people (democrat or republican) in order to accomplish this serious issue.

That's all for now, please let me know if you have other questions or comments.

Thanks for being a concerned citizen!
Kevin Grant

How Kevin Grant & Todd Rokita differ on the Issues

Kevin Grant is quite different from your average politican, specifically as it relates to the issues.  Here is how Kevin Grant and Todd Rokita differ on some of the issues:

Keep God in the Public Sphere:  Todd Rokita has no opinion on this matter and therefore is neutral on the topic of keeping God in the Public Sphere.  On the other hand, Kevin Grant makes this his top priority..."God belongs in the Public Sphere".

Expand the U.S. Military:  As a decorated combat veteran with several deployments under his belt, Kevin Grant believes that we must maintain a strong military.  This doesn't mean we need to police the entire means that we will always be able to protect our interests at any point in time.  Todd Rokita doesn't have an opinion on this matter, in fact, he maintains a neutral stance on this issue.  Having this type of stance shows how weak or not experienced an individual is. This isn't the kind of leadership we need in Washington, D.C.

Limits on Campaign Funds: Limits on Campaign funds has always been a sore subject for career politicians.  They want to raise as much money in order to defeat their opponent.  Kevin Grant strongly favors limits on Campaign Funds while Todd Rokita doestn't have an opinion on the issue.

Todd Rokita's opinions/stances can be found at:

The above issues are just a few areas were Kevin Grant and Todd Rokita differ.  Other issues will be brought up in the months ahead.

As always, if you would like to speak with Kevin Grant about the issues, please call 765-250-3166 or email:

Have a great day!
